DescriptionBIRMINGHAM SCHOOLS' SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA: Patron Sir Simon Rattle, conducted by Mike Seal, meets at Harborne Hill School, Harborne, on Saturdays from 9.30am to 12.30pm. The Orchestra has a national reputation for quality performances of standard orchestral repertoire, often with professional guest soloists. The average minimum standard is Grade 7. The orchestra has performed in many major venues, including the Royal Festival Hall and the Royal Albert Hall in London, as well as the Adrian Boult Hall and Symphony Hall in Birmingham. Recent concert tours have been to Italy (2005) and Prague (2008).
